The Challenge

The Junior League of San Antonio's Holiday Olé Marketplace is a yearly event that showcases over 115 regional and national merchants offering the latest in fashion, beauty and home décor trends, as well as unique gifts and holiday merchandise. Proceeds from Holiday Olé Market benefit the community programs and projects of the Junior League.

With over 10,000 people moving through the convention center door every day during the event, Junior League members needed a better way to keep track of ticket sales and entry points. They wanted to go mobile but needed a way to get the data from their legacy web-based donor software.

The Solution

In an effort to streamline its ticketing process, Junior League of San Antonio reached out SwipeTrack for help. SwipeTrack was able to help them seamlessly integrate their legacy system with our Linea Pro and Infinea Tab scanners through the industry-leading SwipeTrack Browser. Replacing the paper-based process, the new ticketing system delivers fast, accurate scanning of 1D and 2D barcodes as well as fast and secure collection of credit card details.

The system was so easy to use volunteers could pick it up and be scanning within minutes. The SwipeTrack mobile support team was also on-site during the first two days to assist with any issues and to help the event flow as smoothly as possible.

The Takeaway

With the improved ticketing process that involved scanning barcodes and swiping credit cards with the Linea Pro & Infinea Tab devices, Junior League of San Antonio reduced the time it took to purchase tickets and get in through the door by 75% – from 12 minutes to just under 3 minutes. This allowed them to move more people through the doors quickly allowing them more time to shop and spend money within the marketplace.
